We are deeply thankful for all the DSPs who go above and beyond every day to provide outstanding support and services in our Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) and Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs). They help with daily routines and self-care and also offer companionship. With their compassion and kindness, DSPs are a steady source of comfort for the people we support.

We are grateful for a wonderful summer here at camp, and incredible campers who made our last days at camp so meaningful.

Getting a child ready for the new school year? 🎒✏️ Citizens Options Unlimited looks forward to the 5th Annual Back-to-School Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway, hosted by Rep. Andrew Garbarino, Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo, Emergency Services SCPD, NYPD Hockey Club, Suffolk County Police Department, and the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. The event will be held Friday, Aug. 28, 11a.m.-1 p.m. at the Bay Shore Fire Department, 195 5th Ave., Bay Shore, Ny.

Say hello to the Citizens team and a number of community partners, while picking up free backpacks and school supplies.

With the end of the summer season at slowly approaching, we are making the most of every day!

Each day is packed with arts and crafts, swimming, sports, music, and evening events like Color Parties, where we toss color powder into the air, and dances. Today, we said goodbye to our Session 5B campers and welcomed the last group for Session 6A.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this Camp Loyaltown season so amazing. We look forward to a great final week of camp! ☀️

Tim Flynn, Assistant Director of Residential Services and local disability advocate, draws on his personal and professional experience to help young families navigate the disability services system.

Everything Special Needs helps families of children with IDD find the right programs and resources. The nonprofit serves as the first stop for families as they face tough decisions and look for information and support.

The organization also runs Planned Playdates, regular social events where children with IDD can connect in a safe, welcoming space while their families get to know each other.

With a last name like Green, it’s no surprise that Rosa Green has a green thumb. A lifelong gardener and cook at Helen Kaplan Center, Rosa has transformed an unused patch of land into a thriving vegetable garden that provides fresh ingredients for meals enjoyed by the people who live there.
