Huntington Lodge #1565- In a recent conversation with representatives from the St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church Outreach Program, the members from Huntington Lodge learned of their need for fresh meat and poultry in addition to household supplies, diapers and various personal care items. With these items in mind, shopping commenced and a delivery was promptly made. In the attached photo, the delivery was received by "Denise" from the church which totaled approximately $225 from funds received through the efforts of the ENF Beacon Grant.

East District 6120 VAVS- January's visit to the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook provided the residents with several exciting items contained on their"wish list". Included in this delivery were: portable CD players. boombox radios, Kindles and adult coloring books all totalling $1500. Thanks to the funds received from the VAVS and "Drumming for Veterans", these items will provide the veterans with hours of entertainment. We mourn the passing of our comrade Rocco Figalora (95). He was a cornerstone of the community, a WWII Veteran, an integral contributor to the space race, and among the most active and vibrant members of our Post. Services are tomorrow (Friday) evening. He will be greatly missed.🏴🇺🇸

"The national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000. Want to apply? Read the rules and eligibility requirements, and download and complete the 2021-2022 Voice of Democracy entry form as all student entries must be submitted to a sponsoring local VFW Post by midnight, Oct. 31."

If you are a democracy-loving high school student interested in a $30,000 college scholarship or a patriotic middle school student interested in winning $5,000, these scholarships may be for you.
