Hello! We're connecting in regard to the Snow Angels Program. Since the first day of Mayor O'Connor taking office, we have connected with nearly 200 residents across the city and matched 110 residents in need of a Snow Angel. We are working overtime to support everyone but still need help getting the word out. There are still 273 residents in need of a volunteer, and they live in every corner of the City. Please share the information below and help us help your neighbors by recruiting more volunteers.
We greatly appreciate your support for this vital program and please stay safe this weekend.
What is the Snow Angels Program?
Snow-covered sidewalks can be hazardous for everyone. The City of Pittsburgh’s Snow Angels Program pairs older residents and people with disabilities with nearby neighbors to assist with snow removal on their sidewalks and walkways.
Along with fostering stronger community relationships and relieving some of the stress that comes from a heavy snowfall or freeze, Snow Angels make our sidewalks safer for those who are outside during winter weather like postal workers, firefighters, police officers, and other neighbors.
Community groups, coaches, faith-based organizations, and community leaders are all encouraged to sign-up as Snow Angels to support your neighbors in need.
