Looking out for one another matters. 💚 It’s one of the ways we are investing in students’ health, safety and well-being.

Point Park University has received a $25,000-per-year grant to help students make informed decisions about alcohol and substance use.

Through this funding, six student Alcohol Peer Educators are receiving specialized training to help their fellow students recognize risks, make responsible choices and find support when they need it.

Throughout the school year, these students will host campus events and share resources on topics like alcohol poisoning, substance misuse and harm reduction.

🎬 From Point Park to the ABC writers’ room.

Twin brothers Aaron and Neiman Outlen ’15 didn’t just study storytelling—they’re now writing the stories.

Theatre Arts grads. Disney writing program alumni. And now, staff writers on ABC’s “Will Trent.”

Their secret weapon? The performance skills they developed at Point Park.

As Aaron puts it: “All writers are performers (even if they don’t know it).”

Their next goal is to create an original TV series of their own. 📺

Point Park University welcomed Geoff Anisman, deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of State, for a “Chat With a Diplomat” conversation as part of the State Department's Career Connections Pittsburgh: From Steel to Startups seminar.

Students heard about Anisman's career, experiences working abroad and path into the Foreign Service — then had the opportunity to ask questions about public service and building a career with a global impact.

It's a great example of experiential learning in action: bringing industry professionals into the classroom and giving students the opportunity to connect what they're learning at Point Park with the careers they're preparing to build.

🎓 Point Park University has received a $3 million federal grant to expand support for students as they work toward graduation and their careers.

The five-year initiative will help students:
✨ Stay on track toward earning their degree
🤝 Connect with mentors and career opportunities
💼 Gain real-world work experience
📚 Get additional academic and financial support when they need it

For families, that means more resources to help students navigate college, overcome challenges and feel prepared for life after graduation.

From Point Park Film and Animation to the NHL!

Animation alumna Delaney Pater '25 is a lead motion graphics designer for the Pittsburgh Penguins 🖌️ 🏒

"What stood out to me about Point Park was that students were animating on day one of the program, whereas most other animation programs push animation classes back to sophomore year. Having four full years of experience as you enter the industry gives Point Park grads an advantage over their peers who may only have two or three years of experience from a different program," Pater said.

What can a career in creative direction look like? For Point Park students, it can mean learning directly from someone who has helped shape some of the biggest names in sports and fashion. 👟✨

The HXOUSE + Point Park University Creative Direction Credential Program recently welcomed Yassine Saidi, senior advisor and former chief product officer at Under Armour, for two days of presentations and hands-on workshops.

Saidi shared lessons from a career spanning Adidas, Puma, Salomon and Under Armour, including collaborations with Rihanna, Big Sean and The Weeknd.

His advice to the next generation of creatives?
💡 Go beyond what’s expected.
🤝 Build meaningful relationships.
🚀 Treat your career like you own it.

Students then put those lessons into practice through collaborative, real-world creative challenges.

As one student put it, programs like this “spark momentum in dreamers and visionaries.”
