Today marks the beginning of our 2026 YWCA Week Without Violence.

For more than 20 years, YWCAs across the U.S. have set aside one week in October as a Week Without Violence—a national campaign that raises awareness and advances solutions to end gender-based violence. Through October 23, we invite you to join us by learning from podcasts, participating in social media activities, and attending events. Learn more at ywcapgh.org/week-without-violence

Free and open to the public, join Just Films Tuesday, October 20 at Chatham University's Eddy Theater for a screening of "Expanding Sanctuary." The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with free refreshments, and the film starts at 6:00 p.m. followed by a panel discussion with local leaders and activists. Speakers include:

In "Expanding Sanctuary," an immigrant mother becomes an unexpected community leader during a groundbreaking campaign to end the Philadelphia police’s data-sharing with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
