Beechview Community Garden

Beechview Community Garden One of the largest Community Gardens in Pittsburgh, PA. Come take a walk in our garden!

Situated between Beechwood Elementary School and Vanucci Field, we have over 25 rentable beds as well as community herb beds, a berry patch, and pollinator gardens.

Many thanks to Grounded for lending us their Mobile Tool Truck for the morning! And thank you to volunteers Mara, Kyle, Sarah, Zach, Miranda, Dan and Emma for all the hard work cutting down a ton of the overgrowth. This spring we were zeroed in on the new bed build so it was finally time to tackle some other parts of our garden. Theres always more to do, but BCG is lookin good. The next volunteer opportunity is our Open Shed on Tuesday 6/30 from 6-8pm!

Join us tomorrow, Thurs June 11 from 6-8pm, for our first Community Night of the summer. This gives us an opportunity to connect with one another sans volunteer tasks and to just enjoy the garden. Bring food, non-alcoholic beverages or activities to share- or just yourself! While we will soon have new seating courtesy of Sustainability Fund, we’d also encourage you to bring your own folding chair if you’re able!

Calling all volunteers! Tomorrow 11-2pm help us catch up on our bed rebuild. We have made so much progress but are still behind schedule! We need mulch movers, bed assemblers and also some folks to help us transport the new metal beds from a garage to the garden. Can’t make it but want to help? We also could use some dollies for moving boxes out. DM if you can lend us one!

Calling all volunteers! Adding some shifts for mulch spreading. Tonight, 4/15 and tomorrow 4/16 from 6-8:00pm. The sooner we get mulch spread the sooner we can build our new beds! Come on down for a few wheelbarrows, or the whole time. We’d love some extra hands.
