Have you ever wanted to get more involved with us? Well, good news! We are accepting volunteers! We'd love for you to join us! There are many roles, and some details below! Email us at [email protected] to get connected! Share widely!

Most of the roles we have can be done remotely! The time commitment is generally low, one to five hours per month (though there may be more for you id you would like!). Some of the things we particularly need are listed below, but our needs are not limited to these! Please email if you are interested, even if you do not have these skills!

Some current areas of need :

- Solid proficiency with HTML, and the ability to make a few email templates for us using it. This is a one time task, but is an important need.

- Social media and marketing skills, and eagerness to manage social media accounts. Creating content, sharing things, and so on. This role would be ongoing, and mean working in a team with other volunteers.

- Graphic design and web design. Neither are intensive needs. We need things like event fliers, and for events to be added to our website as they occur. This comes up two to three times per month.

- Tabling duty! In person. This one is very people forward, and requires folks who are comfortable with engaging strangers in chit-chat, and informing people confidently about our services.

- Joining our Care Closet team. This could mean a lot of things. Holding items in your home and keeping an inventory of them, and coordinating with others to pick them up. Delivering items. Cooking meals and freezing them. These roles are highly individual, and the commitment can be as little as an hour per month, or more if you'd like!

- Admin tasks + the ability to work largely independently without much oversight. Things like creating a form with minimal direction, making a spread sheet, updating information, making phone calls. This requires good judgement, independent problem solving skills, and enough experience to understand the needs of a small non-profit. These tasks are few in number, and come up a few times per year.

There are other roles and needs as well! These are just the most pressing. We can sign off on volunteer hours for whatever you may need them for!

Again email us at [email protected] to get connected! Please share widely!

Looking for volunteer opportunities? Good news! We're accepting volunteers! Email us at [email protected] to connect! We are excited to hear from you!

Mostly remote, with some limited in person opportunities. We are in particular looking for folks with the skills below, but we are also interested in hearing from you if you have other unlisted skills! :

- Basic graphic design, HTML, and web design skills + the ability to work independently without oversight (with direction).

- Social media skills, experience managing social media accounts, creation of content + the ability to work independently without much oversight with some direction.

- Lots of experience with Zoom for business or other similar platforms, ability to attend events, and manage some of the technical aspects of virtual events while staff are presenting + good attention to detail, and the ability to navigate group social dynamics gracefully (this would mean doing things like managing spotlights, moving people to break out rooms, managing questions, sharing slides, and similar tasks).

- Light research, organization of information, great attention to detail + the ability to work independently with minimal direction.

- Group facilitation in social settings on a virtual platform or group facilitation in social settings in person, strong boundary enforcement, high patience + ability to pass a background check.

- Admin things such as ability to make phone calls, create google docs, forms, sheets, and other similar tasks + great attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, keep good notes, and work independently with direction.

- Terrific public facing service skills, experience tabling for non-profit organizations or eagerness to learn, good at navigating social settings + ability to attend in person events in large noisy environments while attending to social demands gracefully (ie, tabling duty!).

- Ability to drive, have a personal vehicle + time and eagerness to drop items off for participants in our Care Closet program.

Join the only organization in our region in which all decision makers are themselves disabled adults! We are a welcoming, warm team. The commitment is low in terms of hours, and we are happy to sign off on any volunteer hours you may need (including for the new SNAP and MA work requirements).

The work we do is vital, critical, and fulfilling! We'd love to have you join us!

Giving Tuesday is fast approaching. We hope that you will honor us with your support this year.

Your donations allow us to provide a vast array of services and supports at no cost to our disabled community in the SWPA region.

What kinds of supports and services? Peer support, therapeutic groups, resource coordination, case management, social events, workshops, skill shares, mutual aid facilitation, community connections, in the field support for all sorts of things from attending medical appointments to going shoe shopping to delivering meals, body doubling, volunteer coordination for direct support of disabled adults, advocacy in legislative spaces, direct advocacy, and so much more.

We are a gap-filling organization. If our community needs something, we figure out how to do it! Out work is critical, vital, and necessary. Your donations go such a long way with us!
