Stop by! Mon Water Project is at Hazelwood Green for the Jubilee! Hazelwood Local has a HUGE festival going on, so head down to the Outfall of 4 Mile Run (no overflow today! Thanks sunny day!) and let's draw what we see. Big, small, and micro, scientists look at all levels for details that help us understand what is all around us!

The did it! PANTHER HOLLOW LAKE Master Plan is in the 2027 Preliminary Capital Budget for the City of Pittsburgh!!!!!! This is a BIG WIN for our coalition, who worked tirelessly on the government relations to make it happen; for our neighbors in the Run, who deserve flood control projects that protect their homes and businesses; and for our City and all our park users, who deserve beautiful, healthy parks!

Our workshop will be on October 7th at Community Kitchen, and we will be learning about water ecology but join all four to get the full experience!

The Mon Water Project is excited to host a 4 part series of Watershed Wide Workshops in 4 Mile Run, Following the Flow of the actual sewershed, Headwaters to the Mon River. 😮 The workshops start this week 🤓! Wednesday, September 16, from 6 - 8 pm, at the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation offices in Oakland. Get your tickets here:

We are taking quick action following the heavy rain that occured on September 3. We need everyone in Greenfield ( Greenfield Community Association), Oakland (South Oakland Neighborhood Group Pgh), Squirrel Hill, and Hazelwood (Hazelwood Initiative, Inc.) to fill out this survey! Where did things flood during the rain storm?

We beg you- while the memory is fresh! Fill out the survey- it takes 5 minutes. Even if your property didn't flood. Even if your basement is as dry as gin. But, especially if your basement is as wet as a wetland. Please provide any data you have.

Also- we welcome you to reach out to us and talk more about your experiances. We need to understand where the system is failing AND where the system is successfully managing flow. It is the only way we can fight for solutions.
