The Soul Center Experience.Engage.Exhale. The Soul Center transforms Jewish life in Baltimore through innovative experiences in mindfulness, healing and rejuvenation.

The Soul Center is a space that’s free of judgment, representing an approach to Judaism that values curiosity, acceptance, a sense of awe, and a commitment to continued exploration. For some, the Soul Center may be a first entry point to organized Jewish life. For others, a complement to their existing practices and behaviors. Broadly, the program operates within three categories: healing, mindful

ness, and rejuvenation. The programs offered through the Soul Center vary. Weekly meditation “sits” are a regular feature and can be consistently relied upon throughout the year, although the type of meditation and the lead facilitator rotates. Many programs follow a format of a larger presentation or workshop that will be offered free to the community, with smaller sessions over a series of time that will be fee-based. Some programs are one-off specialty offerings as well. The Soul Center also has a mikvah on-site. In the past decade, mikvah has emerged as a powerful re-claimed ritual, an embodied way of marking life transitions, both somber and celebratory. Immersion in the waters of the mikvah can be incredibly healing, as the enveloping water allows one to submerge and then emerge anew. The vision for the mikvah is to have a busy, humming center where immersions happen regularly with the assistance of volunteer mikvah attendants
