Bud the Blue & Gold Macaw.
Bud is in his early 30's. This species can live up to 60 plus years in captivity.
Bud prefers ladies over men, so a female adopter would be ideal. He is quite set in his preference. Bud is not a flyer, as he experienced an injury to his wing many years ago that prevents that, however it does not cause him any other issues.
Bud enjoys listening to music and his absolute favorite thing to do is swing back and forth on his swing. Unlike typical Macaws, Bud is a quieter guy. He mumbles when he is excited and makes sounds, but he very rarely screams. When these guys scream, IT IS LOUD. You MUST be okay with this if you intend to share your home with one. This is not a species ideal for apartment living.
Bud's adoption fee includes his current cage and of course, his swing.
This is an advanced level of commitment. These are NOT beginner birds, and require a high level of respect and patience. Whomever adopts Bud must be willing to give him ample time to decompress and to work on slowly building a bond at his pace.
I expect we will recieve quite a few applications to adopt Bud.
Please understand that I will be taking my time to talk with each applicant. My number one priority is placing Bud into the absolute bet fitting dynamic as possible. His best interest is of utmost importance.
