🚨 What a Fantastic Leadership Civic Infrastructure Day! 🚨

On October 15th, our leadership group dove deep into the heart of our community at City Hall of Picayune and Chimney Square.

🌟 From engaging discussions to eye-opening tours, it was a day packed with learning and inspiration!

We heard from key city leaders City Manager Harvey Miller, Projects Manager Lisa Albritton, Fire Chief Josh Abercromie, Sid Albritton, Police Chief James Bolton, and Chris Pichon-Public Works about current and future projects happening in our city and how our city government is structured.

Adrain Lumpkin, our County Administrator, gave us a breakdown on local taxes and upcoming changes for our community, while Joy Reeves with Mississippi Power led us in a thought-provoking decision-making activity, "Lost in the Desert".

After lunch, we had a lively roundtable discussion with Pearl River County Board of Supervisors Donald Hart, Malcolm Perry and Bryce Lott and Picayune City Council Members Anna Turnage, Jan Stevens and Josiah Hickman, where our leadership participants asked some excellent questions about our city and county.

Then we headed over for a tour of the 911 Dispatch Center at Chimney Square, hearing from Carey Meitzler. Headed upstairs after to hear from Melinda Smith Bowman, Pearl River County Chancery Clerk, discussing her role and Becky MacDonald- Pearl River County Tax Assessor Office, discussed the value of tax dollar in Pearl River County.

We look forward to our next session in November on Law and Justice, where our participants will be touring the Pearl River County Sheriffs Dept and hearing from legislators, judges and others, along with a and tour of Poplarville Courthouse Annex.
