Our work is about more than just connecting nonprofits and grantmakers. It’s about bringing together an uplifting community where people feel supported and inspired by one another.

Moments like these are the true highlight of what we do. We’re more than a network. We’re your nonprofit community.

While visiting Flagstaff last week in his first week as CEO, David Martinez III visited with AZIFG Board Member Eric Wolverton and learned more about his important work at Habitat for Humanity Northern Arizona. Our members have great impact across our state, including stable housing.

What a turnout for UNITE! 🎉

More than 450 nonprofit leaders, funders, and vendors joined us on August 12th and 13th for two full days of learning, conversation, and connection.

Thank you to everyone who showed up ready to share, ask questions, meet someone new, and support the incredible work happening throughout Arizona’s nonprofit community. UNITE would not have been the same without each of you. Thank you also to all of our sponsors for helping us build such an important gathering.

We loved having you with us and cannot wait to do it again next year!

What an incredible first day at UNITE + Transform AZ! Here's the recap ✨

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming nonprofit leaders, grantmakers, philanthropy experts, and changemakers from across Arizona!

The energy in the room was inspiring. We saw new relationships begin, thoughtful ideas being shared, and leaders coming together around a shared commitment to strengthening Arizona’s nonprofit and philanthropic communities. The incredible turnout reminded us just how powerful it is when people gather with a genuine desire to learn, collaborate, and create lasting impact.

Our Transform AZ attendees heard timely insights about emerging trends in philanthropy, collaborative impact, and the opportunities shaping the future of grantmaking. We were honored to learn from:

• Akilah Massey, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations
• Tony J. Fundaro, Philanthropy Southwest
• Matthew L. Evans, United Philanthropy Forum

The conversation was thoughtfully moderated by:
• Kim Covington, Arizona Community Foundation

At the same time, nonprofit CEOs and executive directors joined the Become an Adaptive Change Leader workshop led by:

• Dr. Kim Hartmann, nationally recognized strategic planning, capacity building, and change leadership consultant.

During this interactive workshop, attendees brought real organizational challenges into the room and explored practical, research based tools to help them navigate complexity, solve difficult problems, and lead with greater clarity and confidence.

We ended Transform AZ with a lively networking mixer where grantmakers and philanthropic changemakers continued the conversation, exchanged ideas, and built connections that we hope will lead to even greater collaboration throughout our state.

It was incredible to watch nonprofit leaders engage with the material, share their experiences, and support one another as they considered new ways to lead their organizations!

We're grateful to every speaker, facilitator, partner, and attendee who made today such a success. Thank you for showing up! Your presence made the first day of UNITE + Transform AZ truly memorable.

And the experience is not over yet!

Tomorrow, we continue the learning at the UNITE Conference with an amazing lineup of sessions, speakers, and opportunities to connect with nonprofit professionals and community leaders from across Arizona.
