This is what you need to know:
Your heart language is the one you use when you talk about the deepest memories, the strongest emotions, the funniest stories, the ones you love the most.
For people whose first language is a signed language, access to only written word is not always enough.
Here in the Japanese Deaf community, many people read Japanese as a second language (at best), depending on their age and access to resources.
Many also have faced discrimination and oppression due to language difference, and sign languages have historically been disparaged and frowned upon.
Would YOU love Jesus if you were told he only speaks the language of your oppressor?
We are making a translation done BY the Deaf community FOR the Deaf community. That’s the only way to know that people will feel God communicating in their heart language.
