The Oregon Basketball Coaches Association honored Coach Bill Westerholm this past weekend with its Coaching Legacy Award at the 2025 State Metro All Star Series. Coach Westerholm just finished up an incredible run of 27 years as Head boys Basketball Coach at Seaside High School. Coach Westerholm has many wins in his career but put his stamp on molding young men to be the best they can be. The Oregon Basketball Coaches Association says thank you Coach for your dedication to bettering not only young people but being a beacon to our coaching fraternity.

Game #6 at Warner Pacific in the 2025 State Metro All Star Series, the 6A-5A State Boys Team defeated the Metro Boys Team in Shootout 124–113 to claim the 2025 state metro crown. Game #5 at Warner Pacific in the 2025 State Metro All Star Series, the 6A-5A State Metro Girls East Team defeated the State Metro Girls West Team in highly skilled battled 71-47 to claim the 2025 regional crown. Our Star of Star awards went to Izzie Harms from Willamette High School and Audrey Counts from Wilsonville High School. We are super excited for our 57th annual State Metro All Star series to take place June 13th at Bushnell University and June 14th at Warner Pacific University. We are finalizing schedules and as we get our seniors’ information we hope to start announcing rosters too.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to honor Coach Mardy Benedict from Lebanon High School with the Coaching Legacy Award. Coach Benedict has dedicated over 30 years to the Lebanon community and developing young women through the Lebanon Girls Basketball.

Celebrating with him and pictured with Coach B is his wife Kim, three daughters and grandkids. Coach B thanks for helping grow the sport of basketball in Oregon
