Last month, volunteers, residents, and partners spent hours beautifying North Broad β planting, cleaning, and investing love into public spaces that belong to all of us.
So it was deeply disappointing to see a property owner/construction team use freshly maintained planters as a dumping ground for construction debris immediately afterward.
This is bigger than trash.
It speaks to why developers, property owners, and contractors must connect with the communities they are building in. Revitalization is not just about permits, projects, and profit margins. It is about respect. Respect for the people who live here. Respect for volunteers who give their time. Respect for shared spaces that communities work hard to maintain.
Communities notice who builds with them and who builds around them.
North Broad deserves investment, but it also deserves stewardship.
To every volunteer who showed up: thank you. Your work matters, and one careless act does not erase the beauty and pride you created. Will will address this πͺπ½
