The Rail Park

The Rail Park We’re the official organization bringing a vision for 3 miles of urban greenery, a new kind of park in Philadelphia, to life. Phase One (.25mi) is now open!

We bring community together through nature, free programming, and the arts. Our mission is to build bold, transformative, and inclusive public space that connects Philadelphia’s residents and visitors to the city and each other. Through cross sector partnership and community collaboration, the Rail Park will transform a historic railway into three miles of linear park and pathway, enriching the health, culture, and ecology of the city, and creating inclusive opportunities for Philadelphians.

We've been hosting workshops with our Artist-in-Residence Yannick Lowery for the past few months and having so much fun! Those events are free and open to the public in part because of the support of our Rail Park Members! To thank them, we'll be hosting a members-only Blues of the Cut workshop where they'll be able to create their own cyanotype collage in our offices.
