βœοΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Congratulations to 2nd grader Maeve Ridgeway on receiving an Honorable Mention in the 2026 Writers Matter Writing Contest!

This year, St. Laurentius students participated in the Writers Matter Program, an educational initiative that encourages students to strengthen their writing skills through personal expression. Students were asked to share their dream for America through their writing.

Maeve began her submission with an I Am reflective poem about what it means to be an American and then shared her vision for our country's future:

"In the future I hope America will be a country that has hope, peace, joy, happiness and freedom. I hope for kindness, gratefulness, people helping each other and people playing outside. I wish we can welcome people from different countries. If we did not have those things, what kind of place would this be? I wish for people to be kind to each other and I hope for people to stay together no matter big or small, black or white, women or men. I want there to be nature! I wish for peace, joy, love, and happiness to reign over this country. I want people to be safe and healthy. I hope for people to protect nature because if you do not, you will not have food. I hope we always remember who built this country."

We are so proud of Maeve for this outstanding accomplishment and for sharing such a thoughtful and inspiring message. Congratulations, Maeve! πŸ‘πŸ’™

🎸Our 5th and 6th graders recently showcased their musical talents at the annual Rock to the Future guitar show!

Throughout the year, students in the Rock to the Future program learn the fundamentals of guitar and build their musical skills through practice and performance. For the show, each class worked together to choose a song to perform for their families and friends.

We are so proud of their hard work, confidence, and musical growth. Great job, students! πŸ‘πŸŽ΅πŸ’™

Last week, our Pre-K 3 students celebrated Career Day by dressing up as what they hope to be when they grow up! Students learned about community helpers and explored different careers while dreaming about their futures.

We loved seeing their creativity, excitement, and big dreams on display! βœ¨πŸ’™

🎨✨ A look back at our St. Laurentius Art Show!

Our students spent the past several months creating incredible works of art inspired by books, famous artists, new materials, and topics that sparked their imagination (including some very memorable snails! 🐌).

Their hard work, creativity, and artistic growth were on full display, and they were thrilled to share their creations with family and friends. We are so proud of all of our young artists and grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate their talents! πŸ’™

🌧️🌳 This week, our 2nd and 3rd graders had a wonderful rainy day adventure with Stroud Water Research at Penn Treaty Park!

Students explored the Delaware River and learned about the macroinvertebrates that live there while discussing river health, clean water, and caring for our natural environment. They even had time to enjoy the playground together!

A big thank you to Stroud Water Research and Penn Treaty Park for providing such a fun and educational experience for our students!

πŸ“Έ Throwback Thursday!

A special look back at our current 8th graders all the way back in 1st grade. It’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown over the years while remaining such an important part of the St. Laurentius family.

We love looking back on these sweet memories as they prepare for their next chapter! ✨
