Our Tree Tenders program provides trees to neighborhoods across the Philadelphia region that need them most. With your support, we can plant trees that will make our region greener, healthier, and more beautiful.

With more trees, we gain:

☀️ Protection from the heat
🧠 Improved mental health and wellness
🌎 Lessened effects of climate change
🍃 Cleaner air (which leads to lower rates of asthma and COPD)
🌳 More beautiful, united communities

Help us garden for the greater good and create a better Philadelphia region for everyone. Donate today: https://bit.ly/4dyzokD

“When people pass by, come in, and see this, in their mind, and their heart, and their soul, they go back to the island.”

For nearly 50 years, the Norris Square Neighborhood Project has created gardens that bring the spirit, culture, and beauty of Puerto Rico to Philadelphia.

These spaces are more than gardens. They're places for memory, connection, and community. Norris Square is one of more than 200 community gardens that PHS helps support across the region.

Stories like this continue because people invest their time, resources, and care. Learn how you can support community gardens and more: https://bit.ly/4dGTE4V

Nothing tastes better than home. And that starts with sowing the right seeds.

From spilanthes and Chinese chive to chili peppers and traditional basil varieties, the Karen Community Association of Philadelphia (KCAP) works closely with PHS to source culturally important crops and help them grow here in Philadelphia.

Hear stories from community garden members who have made Philadelphia their home, and how growing these seeds helps preserve culture, build connection, and create space for healing.

You can help support, grow, or get involved with one of the 200+ community gardens PHS works with across the region. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4dGTE4V

Did you know that we've planted around 40,000 trees since the program began? And it's now regarded as one of the most robust urban tree planting programs in the country 🌟

That’s tens of thousands of trees putting down roots on neighborhood blocks, creating more shade on hot days, improving air quality, and helping communities grow greener and healthier over time.

With spring in full swing (and summer not feeling far behind), Tree Tenders are back out on streets across the region restoring our tree canopy. Help us keep growing by supporting Tree Tenders and PHS today: https://bit.ly/4dyzokD
