Eric was biking along a quiet country road when a driver struck and killed him. Eric was a National Merit Finalist, artist, musician, athlete, and UC Berkeley student who dreamed of finding a cure for cancer.

His life was cut short by a moment of distraction. His story is a heartbreaking reminder that taking your eyes off the road for even a moment can change countless lives forever.

Together, we're reaching more students.

Thank you to Honda and the Honda USA Foundation ( Team Honda ) for supporting EndDD's distracted driving education programs.

Because of Honda's support, we reached more than 5,500 elementary and high school students during our most recent grant cycle. Students learned about distracted driving risks, safe decision-making, and how their choices can help protect themselves, their families, and their communities.

We're grateful for Honda's continued commitment to traffic safety and excited to reach even more students during the 2026–2027 school year.

As part of an EndDD road safety education program, elementary school students learned about distracted driving, safe choices behind the wheel, and how crashes affect families and communities.

Then they became the teachers.

After learning about safe driving, these students created messages for older drivers and teens. Their advice was simple:

At just 21 years old, Casey’s life was cut short by a distracted driver while crossing the street. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and the way she made people feel seen and valued.

Today, her legacy lives on through End Distracted Driving, helping remind drivers that every choice behind the wheel affects the lives around us.
