Great connecting with students at Golden High School in Colorado about distracted driving and making safer choices behind the wheel!

Joel Feldman spoke with students about the dangers of distracted driving and how their everyday choices can help prevent crashes and save lives.

A great start to our partnership with the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA).

Jessica Carson of GFT helped kick off our first IBTTA-supported distracted driving presentations at High School in Lafayette, Colorado, reaching approximately 125 students across five health classes.

As both a traffic safety professional and a mom, Jess connected with students and helped start important conversations about the choices they make behind the wheel.

Thank you, GFT, Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission , International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association and Centaurus High School for helping us educate the next generation of safer drivers!

Jenny Buls-Vrba was just a few miles into a bike ride with her husband when she got a flat tire. As she walked along the roadside in her bike shoes, waiting for him to return with the car, a distracted driver veered off the road and struck her from behind. Jenny later died from her injuries.

A lifelong athlete, enjoyed triathlons, running, and all things sports. She met her husband, Mark, while playing point guard for the women’s basketball team at North Iowa Area Community College.

Her husband Mark wants her story to change the way people drive. "That is her legacy,” said Mark. “Not the legacy we want but if something positive can come from her story, that is what her family and I want.”

Can you teach distracted driving awareness too early? We don’t think so.

That’s why we use resources like the children’s book “Sam’s Trip to the Beach” to help even the youngest students recognize danger, stay alert around cars, and feel confident speaking up if a driver is distracted. It’s not about fear—it’s about giving kids the power to protect themselves and others.

When children know their voices matter, they become champions for safer roads. Let’s make distracted driving unacceptable—starting with the next generation.

But there’s hope: when teens truly understand the risks, they make safer choices. That’s why our presentations go beyond the stats. We show the real science behind distraction and why multitasking behind the wheel just doesn’t work.

In 2009, Casey Feldman’s life was cut short at just 21 years old when a distracted driver struck her while she was in a crosswalk.
