🚨 1 in 6 New Hampshire children is experiencing food insecurity.

A new Feeding America Map the Meal Gap report reveals a troubling increase in hunger across our state. Child food insecurity has risen 6% in just one year, from 36,160 children to 38,430.

Overall, 1 in 9 Granite Staters now face food insecurity—up from 10.7% to 11.2%.

Seven of New Hampshire’s 10 counties saw measurable increases in food insecurity, with children among those most impacted.

These numbers represent real children, families and neighbors who are struggling to put enough food on the table.

At the New Hampshire Food Bank, we’re responding by expanding fresh food rescue, increasing deliveries to remote communities, providing more fresh produce and protein through Mobile Food Pantries, and strengthening the network of more than 400 partner agencies working across our state.

But we cannot do this alone. Together, we can make sure every child in New Hampshire has access to the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive.

Community Supporting Community 💛

We are incredibly proud to present $1,837 to End 68 Hours of Hunger-Conval, made possible through the generosity and support of our Waterhouse guests.

This check represents so much more than a dollar amount. It represents neighbors coming together to help ensure local children have access to food during the approximately 68 hours between Friday’s school lunch and Monday morning’s school breakfast.

End 68 Hours of Hunger provides weekend food bags to children in our community, helping bridge that gap and giving students one less thing to worry about when they leave school for the weekend.

We are grateful to Linda Caracappa and the entire End 68 Hours of Hunger ConVal team for the important work they do, and to Zachary McLaughlin and Tyler Beard from our Waterhouse team for helping make this partnership possible.

And most importantly, thank you to every Waterhouse guest who participated and contributed. Your support is what turned this fundraiser into $1,837 that will stay right here in our community and help local children.

Our friends at Avenue A do such wonderful things . . . .

Our free back-to-school clothing day for middle and high schoolers is tomorrow (Monday) from 5-7pm! We've collected a giant amount of gently used clothes! Teens are invited to come and stock up for the new school year! We love this event because clothes are fun... and free clothes are even more fun! If you're looking for kids/baby clothes, The Grapevine will have those sizes next door....It's a clothing extravaganza! We hope to see everyone tomorrow!
