UPCOMING EVENT! ECW Youth Virtual Critique Group Starts September 17! Sign up now. Joshua Khan, Emerald Coast Writers' Youth Poet Laureate is launching our first ever Youth Critique Group for 7th to 12th graders living in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, or Bay Counties. The goal is to build a community that is able to workshop poems and help each other grow as young writers; members will get constructive feedback on their work and participate in writing exercises! It will be fully virtual (via Zoom), meet biweekly 6-8 pm Central on Thursday starting September 17, AND the only cost of joining is a bit of time plus a $15 yearly student membership fee to the Emerald Coast Writers. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to our Youth Writing Director, Charline Barger, at [email protected].

The group will primarily focus on poetry, but it is open to everyone regardless of experience and will eventually expand to fiction and nonfiction. Joshua looks forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to the Youth Poet Laureate of the Emerald Coast Joshua Khan for this recent award!

GBHS just found out that last year's Literary Magazine, "Angle of Reflection" received an "All Florida" (their top award)!
Josh Khan and Anna Lu were the Editors--
The rest of the staff included Caroline Smith, Cora Smith, and Violet Sandifer.
This is the second year in a row that they received the top award.
Special thanks to Mr. Ken Killam who sponsors the Literary Magazine for GBHS!
