We are a non-profit animal sanctuary that believes all animals have the right to be treated with care, love, and respect.

We provide a safe and supportive home for animals in need.

We were contacted about taking these two in and just couldn’t say no. With everyone full or unable to take in both, they didn’t have anywhere else to go.

We need to cover their initial vetting, castration, and build them a place to settle in before they join the herd. This is a lot to take on and we really need the help of our community to make it happen. They are safe but their journey with us has just started.

As a sanctuary, we provide lifelong care to everyone who steps foot or hoof here. That means we need help when they first come and also throughout their whole life so we can offer them the best care possible. We are a 501(c)3 non profit which means every donation is tax deductible! Please help us bring these boys home and give them the life they deserve.

This life is 24/7 but I chose it because I need them too. What I give them, they give right back. Animals are the best of us and I can’t imagine life without them.

This is their sanctuary, my sanctuary, and hopefully a sanctuary for all who visit. 🤍

❄ Winter prep is under way and we could use your help! ❄
I've updated our Amazon wishlist to include some items we could really use for winter. There's something for everyone on this list and no matter what you choose, it will help us tremendously.

❄ Our goats and equines have access to loose salt and salt blocks at all times. Salt helps them stay hydrated even when the cold weather makes them less thirsty. We use salt and offer warm water during the winter to encourage hydration and prevent a lot of health issues that could happen if someone doesn't drink enough.

❄ This is a big wish for this year - insulated bucket covers for our barn buckets. We don't use heated buckets in the barn because they pose a fire risk. But on cold cold nights, the goats' waters will freeze, even after having hot water added at night checks. I'd love to get 5 of these bucket covers and see if they can help us prevent frozen waters this year.

❄ For the water heaters we use outside, its important that we use proper cords and have cord covers to protect the electric lines. We can always use more of these.

❄ Ice melt is a HUGE need because there was a shortage last year! The ice was so bad and we had to ration what we had because all the stores sold out. We would love to start stocking up now so we can avoid that this year. And the great thing is, if we don't use it all this year, we can save it for the next winter.

❄ Probios treats are everyone's favorite and they don't even realize they're actually getting probiotics! We love to give these during weather swings or just randomly as a delicious snack.

❄ And last, but not least, we're running low on Viralys. This is a supplement we give to our barn cats to boost their immune system, especially for the colder months. They always have access to warm shelters, food & water, but it doesn't hurt to give them a little extra help to feel their best while they're staying warm.

Ray & Chase - brothers from different mothers 🤍

These two are a perfect example of how strongly animals can form bonds, even if they aren’t related. We originally took in Chase and his late mom, Matilda, with the 3 big goats as one herd. But here, Chase and Matilda were being bullied by the bigger goats so we separated them out.

A couple months later we had the chance to save Ray and I thought he might make a great addition to the little goat herd. Ray was a lot in the beginning, but over time him and Chase bonded and Matilda seemed to enjoy some peace and quiet while the two of them played. Sadly, Matilda left this world way too soon. I was so worried about Chase but he had his buddy Ray to help him through.

Now all the goats are one big herd again and Ray protects Chase from the bigger goats. These two are often found near each other and sometimes even snuggling in their stall. They came from different moms, different traumas, and found brotherhood in sanctuary. We absolutely love these two and hope you do too!

It still amazes me when I think back to the beginning of these girls’ life. The fact that a horrible human who had done this twice before was allowed to acquire and neglect animals a THIRD time. That’s how terrible and nonexistent the laws protecting animals are, especially farmed animals.

But now these girls are living the life. They have a huge field and share it with Manny. They have a large shelter and they choose when they want to use it. Most of the time they prefer to sleep under the stars, stay out in the rain & snow, and nap under a shade tree when it’s hot. And despite their past, they run to greet humans with love and flop for belly rubs.

Animals are so kind and forgiving, humans could learn a lot from them.

And just like that, it’s October 🍂

I feel increasing anxiety as we inch closer to winter after the horror that was last winter. Each year we do this I learn more, endure more, & fear more. It’s just the reality of being responsible for so many lives during uncertainty and the weather & the world we live in loves to be uncertain.

This time of year we’re always thinking ahead and starting to prep. Learning from the good and bad of last winter and aiming to do better this one. October is one of my favorite months and even though it feels like we’re starting the downhill race to winter, I try to stop and enjoy the beauty of fall. Tonight’s sky was exceptional and the leaves are starting to turn. I hope we all can find a way to slow down October and enjoy every last bit of it.

Pulling one out of the summer archives because all we’re doing this weekend is surviving this nor’easter.

As someone who has been caring for animals for a loooonnnggg time there’s things I do that I don’t even think twice about. Something like this seems like a no brainer to me but I bet some people would find it gross. What do you think?

If you’ve been here from the beginning, then you know the boys. And if you haven’t, let me catch you up on these perfect piggies:

In August of 2023, they were living in a small fenced in area in knee deep filth. They could barely move around and mostly stuck to their shelter areas which were just as bad. They were being fed pizza and other table scraps that were just tossed over the fence into the goo. They had no clean water or clean anything. It was absolutely disgusting.

We had only lived at our new property for a week when we went to pick them up. We didn’t know what we were walking into but we knew they needed out and we had an empty barn waiting for them. They stayed in the barn for about a week to settle in and gain some strength. They were so overweight and weak from barely moving around. You wouldn’t know it now seeing them run, graze, and loving life.

Rescuing 8 pigs immediately was a little scary but they were simply the best and we learned everything together. From watermelon pool parties to family walks, those first few months watching them blossom was magical. I will forever be deeply bonded to these boys and there’s no better feeling than having them run and flop for belly rubs at the sound of my voice.

These cuties are known for their adorable booties running back and forth from their field. Sometimes they even go in a single file line. They have a lot of fans on social media and in person people fall in love with them immediately. That’s why I’m so shocked only one of these special boys has a sponsor.
