Blanche is one of 5 that we rescued at the end of last summer. They had been abandoned when their humans moved out. I don’t know what their summer looked like last year, but this year it will definitely include lots of wallow time and watermelon pool parties.

Pigs are somehow both the chilliest and also most dramatic beings on the planet 😂

These boys are my OG piggies. We rescued them one week after moving here and they became the loves of my life. They really can do no wrong, I love them so much. But they’re on a strict diet and don’t get second dinners, even if they beg 😅

I do think it’s ironic that I don’t eat animals but my cuteness aggression makes me want to “eat” cute things. But then again, cuteness aggression does make me feel the silliest things. Please enjoy Sneakers delicious and oh so smoochable squishy nose 🤗

Do I yell this whenever Daphne is running late for dinner? Yes, yes I do.

Despite their ears being giant, the big pigs don’t always hear that well. I think it’s because they’re so floppy. So often times I have to yell a few times and when they think they hear something, they’ll lift their head and pause. I then yell again and they come running with their big ears flopping. It’s the cutest thing. I love our big pigs so much 💕

Sunday Funday around here is usually fixing all the things the goats have broken. They like to help and also try to break other stuff while we’re working so we never run out of things to do.

But we can’t really complain when the weather is this nice and the helpers are this cute 🥰

🎀 F A Y 🎀

Fay has come SO far in her first 3 months of sanctuary. Besides being abandoned, we don’t know what her past looked like. After she was found, her and all the other animals were moved to a state facility and then to rescues that were assisting before going to their new homes. So we were her third move in a week and she was absolutely terrified of us and everything.

She was in a constant state of fear and would bark and lunge at any movement. Despite having access to a whole stall, she didn’t leave her pen for the first week. Over time she’s worked up to gaining more space & confidence. She went from lunging, to flinching at touch, to actually enjoying it, and finally, allowing a belly rub 🎉 belly rubs are the ultimate sign of trust for a pig and I couldn’t be happier that she’s finally feeling safe and loved.

Good girl, Fay! We love you!

The other day I was walking out of the barn and glanced toward the front yard. My brain was confused by what I was seeing, something didn’t look quite right. But upon further review my eyes did see it correctly: Maisy on top of a bed on top of the spool looking like she could slide off at any moment 🤭

We picked up the beds to mow the other day and apparently I forgot to put one back. Maisy thought it looked like a comfy spot and helped herself. Goats are so silly.

Happy Memorial Day from Mia!

Holiday weekends around here are less about relaxing and more about how many things can we get done off the to do list with the extra time 😅 the rain messed this up a bit but we were still able to get done some deep cleaning in the barn and one exciting project that has been on Nate’s list for a looooonggg time.
