This day is in honor of Harvey Milk's birthday. Milk was a pioneering LGBTQ+ rights activist and first openly gay person elected to public office in California. It is a day of education and action, focused on continuing his fight against discrimination and for equality.

In 2021, HIV prevalence among Asian people was the highest in the Western regions of the U.S., and the two states with the highest Asian HIV prevalence were California and New York. It is up to us to spread awareness about the health disparities experienced by Asians, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders while we all work towards eliminating the HIV epidemic among these communities.

Started on May 17, 1990, this day was chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision to remove homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases. This is a day to lobby for legal protections, challenge stigma, and celebrate sexual and gender diversity.

Nonbinary Parents Day was created to combat the isolation nonbinary parents can feel and to celebrate in a way that feels right for them. Some ways to celebrate are to have family picnics, gifting, or by reading children's books that feature nonbinary characters and families. 💛💜🖤

This Saturday! The "Troubled Teen" industry are the groups/camps which work to "help" these teens not be troubled anymore - like conversation therapy. Come and learn about how to advocate against it and support people who have gone trough it. Gather for conversation and learning. Tickets free, location shared with ticket. This helps us know how much to purchase for a main dish.
