Last weekend all of the graduating youth in foster care, statewide, were celebrated at the annual grad party!

In partnership with Children's Aid Society of Alabama and the Department of Human Resources Independent Living office, Second Shift provided LIFE Directories for each youth!

These books are updated annually and filled with information and tools to help them live their best LIFE!

A little peek at the HomeFULLness House so far... A HUGE thank you to the Rogers "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood" small group from The Church at Brook Hills (Living room and bedrooms) and the women's group at the Camp Branch United Methodist Church (Dining room). They have made it such a lovely home for our residents!

This beautiful young woman is one of the most tenacious people we know! She does not quit!

She fought her way out of homelessness… TWICE! and now in partnership with Hearts of Wheels she has a new (to her) car, fully equipped for her needs!!

The entire Second Shift team was fortunate to get to participate in the 2026 IL Networking Conference!! This is the annual event where all of the Independent living professionals, programs and partners gather to learn and enjoy the beautiful lake Guntersville park.

Thank you Children's Aid Society of Alabama for inviting our executive director, Tammy Spence to speak and share a practical tool with some of the "boots on the ground" workers! What a great time and an honor!!
