This sweet baby is Sunny. ☺️ He is a bright light to all who know him. He is also very sick. His heart is failing.

Occasionally we have the opportunity to help in extreme hardship... This is a special fundraising campaign for baby Sunny and his family as they all wait on a heart to become available.

Sunny is 20 months old and has been living in the hospital on a heart pump for the past 7 months. That is nearly 1/3 of his precious little life. Being on a heart pump prevents him from being held and comforted by his mommy. It prevents him from playing with his big brother. But it does keep him alive.

Sunny's mom is one of our clients. She has worked so hard and overcome so many obstacles and finally become stable with a home and gainful employment. She has been diligently working on completing her college education while raising her two little boys.

Sunny had been sick a lot as a baby and then in January he was placed on the waiting list for a heart transplant.

His mom and his 5 year old brother spend most of their time at the hospital now. Due to the critical nature of his condition his mom has to be close by. As you can imagine this has impacted her ability to work and pay the bills and get Sunny's older brother ready to start school... They need help.

Some of their needs are... utility expenses, school clothes and supplies, gas and food money and your thoughts and prayers.

🐻 BREAKING NEWS:
The Shelby County black bear stopped by our office today.

He heard we were recruiting mentors and volunteers, for our Community of Connection.

Unfortunately, we had to tell him he didn't meet the qualifications.

❌ Couldn't fill out the registration form.
❌ Hibernates for months at a time.
❌ Lacks communication skills.
❌ Not great at life-skills coaching.

We're still looking for caring humans who can simply show up, listen, encourage, and remind a young person they matter.

Because changing a life doesn't take animal instincts...
It just takes connection.
