We want to wish all of our Trans siblings a very happy and safe Trans Day of Visibility. We know that things are not the best right now and are becoming more nerve-wracking, but remember that this world would be a lot darker without your bright and beautiful smiles and warm voices! We see you, we love you, and we validate your existence!

If you live in Providence and are looking to obtain salt for your walkway or driveway. You're now able to obtain up to 5 gallons worth of rock salt. But this is open to only Providence residents (sadly).

Thanks to a resolution introduced by Councilman Oscar Vargas (Ward 15) requesting the City provide salt to residents, the Administration has agreed to make salt available for free to all Providence residents, subject to availability, on Saturdays before or after winter storms.

Distribution will begin tomorrow, Saturday, February 21st, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 30 Shipyard Street.

Residents are required to bring their own bucket (up to 5 gallons) and provide proof of Providence residency.

WARNING: The material being handed out is a mixture of industrial-grade road salt and sand and should be handled and used with appropriate caution.

Today marks the first day of Black History Month! We observe the month of February to learn about and honor the contributions that our Black and Afro-Latinx siblings have made not only in this country but around the globe. While this year might be a difficult time for us all, we look to the past to learn how to move forward! Be sure to read any and all books or articles surrounding the African diaspora, watch any of the countless documentaries out there, but most of all support Black-owned businesses.
