Last month, our “A State Connected By Art” fundraiser helped raise $8,500 for Art Connection Rhode Island. It was a vibrant celebration that wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing artists, donors, volunteers, and partner organizations. Thank you all for truly making ACRI’s 15‑year milestone unforgettable.

Dear ACRI Community,

We’re still buzzing from last night’s celebration of 15 years, and wanted to express our gratitude for helping the evening shine!

What we achieved together:
    •    55 guests gathered at the new ACRI Art Gallery
    •    Silent Auction items flew off the table, a bidding war ensued, raising $1,400
    •    We honored the late artist, Roberta VanDerMolen, reminding us of the lasting impact one artist can have
    •    Hollis Hickerson received the Youth Art Educator Award for her commitment to art education and the amazing work she does through ACRI’s Youth Art Workshops
    •    In total, your presence and generosity helped us raise $8,500 from the night overall

In 2025, ACRI partnered with Hattie Ide Chaffee Home. Together, we placed 40 original artworks in their new rehabilitation wing and common spaces, bringing inspiration to their residents and staff. ACRI is so grateful for their partnership and the opportunity to continue to bring art to communities across Rhode Island.

Join us for “A State Connected By Art Fundraiser” on April 30, where we honor the incredible Roberta VanDerMolen.

Roberta’s lifelong passion for art led her to donate 60 artworks since 2016, impacting 18 local nonprofits through the ACRI Art Placement Program. With mastered technique in illustration, ceramics, watercolor, printmaking, and oil painting, she was a dedicated artist and beloved art teacher for over 22 years.

ACRI will have a special exhibit showcasing the most recent donation by her daughter, Samantha Hirsch. We invite the community to join us in honoring Roberta’s legacy.
