Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for our 14th Annual Opening Doors at Camp Ramsbottom!

We are so grateful to all who helped make this event such a success - our Opening Doors Committee, sponsors, donors, emcee, speakers (including our incredible teen members), award recipients, staff, volunteers, food vendors, and everyone who attended.

Congratulations to our 2026 Opening Doors honorees: Volunteer of the Year, Jared Wade; Corporate & Community Partner Award recipient, Bristol County Savings Bank; and Lyman B. Goff Founders Award recipient, Ray Scully.

Because of the support of this incredible community, we are able to continue opening doors and creating opportunities for generations of local youth. Thank you for helping make great futures possible! 💙

Last night was an incredible Opening Doors celebration!

A huge thank you to our friend and board member Alison Bologna TV News Anchor for serving as our emcee and for featuring us on the NBC 10 WJAR Sunrise Shoutout this morning. Thank you to everyone who joined us, as well as our generous sponsors, for helping make the evening so special.

Congratulations to our honorees, Jared Wade, Bristol County Savings Bank, and Ray Scully. We are grateful for all you do for our Club, Camp, and community.

And last but certainly not least - a very special happy birthday to our CEO, Amy Gonsalves!

Yesterday, 50 of our members received brand new bikes, helmets, and bike locks thanks to the generosity of Teknor Apex and their Bikes for a Brighter Future program!

This initiative is thanks to Jon Fain, former CEO and current Chairman of the Board at Teknor Apex. A lifelong lover of cycling, he was on site yesterday to speak with our members about the importance of bike safety and all of the opportunities that come with having a bike of their own.

A special thank you to the Pawtucket Police Department who were on hand to help properly fit each child with their helmets and adjust their bikes to ensure they were ready to ride safely.

This is the second year Teknor Apex has brought this wonderful initiative to our Club, and we are so grateful for their continued support! This just made the upcoming summer even more amazing for these members!

Thank you, Teknor Apex, Mr. Fain, and the Pawtucket Police Department for making this special day possible!

Opening Doors is THIS THURSDAY! And we are celebrating our final award recipient - our Volunteer of the Year, Jared Wade!

Jared joined our Board of Directors in 2021, and has been an incredibly active board member ever since. Jared participates in every volunteer event we have to offer at the Club, bringing his creativity to our Halloween event with his team from Hasbro, his hard work and determination to our Earth Day event, and his positive, friendly attitude to several other volunteer opportunities.

Jared was co-chair of last year's 125th Anniversary Celebration, and has been co-chairing our Opening Doors event since 2023. He was also the artist behind the incredible portrait of our former long time CEO, Jim Hoyt.

We are so grateful to have Jared's support, thank you so much for all you do for the Club!

We’re only 9 days away from our upcoming 14th Annual Opening Doors celebration, and we're excited to announce another award recipient that we’ll be honoring at the event. Please join us in congratulating Ray Scully, recipient of the Lyman B. Goff Founders Award!

Over the six decades that Camp Ramsbottom has been in existence, Ray has been there. His influence has shaped Camp into a place where generations of local kids have made memories, built friendships, and shared new experiences. From his time as an activity leader to his many years as Camp Director, Ray has always been someone who cares deeply about Camp and the people who make it special.

To this day, Ray is still hard at work behind the scenes helping to prepare Camp for each summer. Camp wouldn’t be what it is without Ray’s passion and dedication.

We are so grateful for everything Ray has done for Camp Ramsbottom and the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket over the years, and we’re proud to celebrate his incredible impact on our community.

Members of our pre-teen program were treated to a special visit from some of the stars of Rhode Island FC earlier this week! They had a blast chatting about soccer and drawing pictures of the team, and of course our goof friend Chip the mascot! Thank you so much for the ongoing support!
