For more than two decades, Edd Pedro has dedicated his time and energy to bringing the Pawtucket community together in support of those impacted by juvenile arthritis. That’s why Edd is this week’s Community Spotlight.

This year marked the 22nd and final Fight for the Cure Annual Mega Raffle & Wiffleball Tournament, an incredible milestone for an event that has made a difference for so many families.

The City of Pawtucket thanks Edd for his years of service and commitment to our community. We can’t wait to see what comes next.

Durante más de dos décadas, Edd Pedro ha dedicado su tiempo y energía a unir a la comunidad de Pawtucket en apoyo a las personas afectadas por la artritis juvenil. Por eso, Edd es el Protagonista Comunitario de esta semana.

Este año se llevó a cabo el 22º y último “Fight for the Cure Annual Mega Raffle & Wiffleball Tournament”, un logro increíble para un evento que ha marcado una diferencia en la vida de tantas familias.

Knock, Knock, Knock was the sound of the day for most of us. Richmond is a very narrow course lined by trees. Thank you to the 48 golfers who came out to play at Richmond Country Club. The course was in great shape as usual. Although it was very muggy for us New Englanders, everyone enjoyed the course and is looking forward to coming back next year.

VGA RI had another winner at the MA State Championship event yesterday! Shout out to Ryan Pedro won the Family B flight at Crumpin-Fox.

Well, Well, Well, VGA Rhode Island is back on the map as we held our stand-alone State Championship this year! With 92 golfers from 13 states taking their best shots to make it to the North Regionals.
Meadow Brook as usual was in great again this year, just a beautiful course, (Wish I was able to have played) thanks to Kelly & Dan for helping VGA RI to pull this event off. Most of the flights came right down to the last couple of holes for a winner to be crowned, we also had to have two flights go to playoff holes to crown a winner, Big shootout to all the golfers who came from across the US to make this a very memorable event for us.

Exeter was in great shape, and it was a pleasure to hold our event here again this year, thanks to Jen & Ben for the help. We had another great day with the weather.

Update on the few events we have coming us with the next two weeks.

Saturday July 25th @ Exeter CC We are sold out but if we get a few more golfers we might be able to grab a couple of tee times.

Sunday July 26th: Our State Championship @ Meadow Brook G C. We are sold out with 92 golfers!!!!!!! Awesome! Get on the waiting list in case someone has to drop out. This could be your shot at making it to the North Regionals!!!!

Saturday, August 1st @ Richmond CC: We currently only have 4 spots left. This is the 1st event for the New England Swing. Don't put off signing up today.

Let's keep getting those golfers signed up for the VGA RI today; these memberships will also cover their cost for the 2027 season.
