It took 6 months, I think 6 months too many to merely figure out what I was going to do with my life. A whole half a year may not seem like much to some but to me it felt like an eternity. I asked myself what am I going to do now? Where do I see my life now? To be honest 6 months prior I had it all figured out I was going to be stay at home mom for a while and finally get to enjoy the little luxur
ies of taking my kids to school, going to school activities, and finally bonding with my baby. If you could only imagine the agony after having what felt like my life taken from underneath of me. I honestly didn’t think I would make it to talk about 6 months later. I found comfort naturally in my friends and family; but to be frank I found the most comfort from acquaintances some old high school classmates, some were friends of friends of friends who had kind hearts. Through your support and generosity I was able to get through some of the toughest days of my life. I am sure there are more of those days to come, and they probably won’t ever end. I want everyone to understand because of your kind words and emotional support I am strong today and I have a vision clear as day. I hope you all understand, join, and contribute to this vision that I am passionate about. As you might know we have decided to start a non-profit organization in memory of Hayzel-Rae! Hayzel’s Helping Hands is a charitable organization that will give back to youths & families during a time of need. Our vision is big and by the grace of God and your support will go far and reach out to many families that are so desperately in need. We want to educate parents and families about safe sleeping tips, bring awareness to SIDS, support the youth in their sporting events and assist in some of the cost associated, rewarding the youth that not only are superstars on the playing field but are stars in the classrooms as well. In addition, as much as we don’t want to hear about it but help families with ill children with their medical expenses, and general household expenses associated with caring for an ill child. I know this may seem overwhelming but I promise you I never thought I would be in the position to bury my child and the only consolation is knowing that her name will never be in vein and we have helped many other families get through their hardest days.
