The city didn’t triple. The need did.

Behind every increase is a neighbor.

A family trying to keep food on the table.
Someone worried about housing.
A household trying to keep the lights on.
A resident building skills for what comes next.

Requests for support across Paterson Task Force services have increased 3X.

And while Paterson’s population has remained relatively stable, the need reaching our doors has not.

That is not growth we celebrate. It is a responsibility we have to meet.

For our neighbors: if you need support, reach out.

For our partners, funders and community champions: this is what increased need looks like on the ground—and why continued investment in Paterson matters.

Same city. Same neighbors. We’re ready to help.

🎒📚 A strong school year starts with a strong community behind it.

Paterson Task Force was proud to join Joseph Taub School for its Back to School Backpack Giveaway, helping students and families get ready for the year ahead.

Thank you to the school, volunteers, partners and everyone who came together to make the day possible. When Paterson shows up for its children, everybody wins. 💙💛

Here’s to a school year filled with learning, growth and big possibilities! ✏️✨

September is coming.

And the real end-of-summer checklist is not just school supplies and one last cookout.

🏠 Is home secure?
🥕 Is there enough food on the table?
💵 Are the bills getting harder to manage?
💼 Could a new job or new skills make a difference?
🤝 Does your family need a little extra support?

Life does not wait until everything is figured out. Neither should asking for help.

Paterson Task Force is here to help Paterson residents connect with housing support, financial empowerment, food resources, energy assistance, workforce services and other resources that can help families move forward.

You do not need to know which program you need before you call.

Start with the problem. Start with the question. Start with us. 💙

Rent gets tight. Then groceries get tight. Then the electric bill shows up.

Real life does not separate challenges into neat little boxes.

Neither does the support available through Paterson Task Force.

From housing and food to home energy assistance, financial empowerment, job and technology training and emergency support, PTF helps Paterson residents explore resources for different parts of life.

And you do not have to know which program you need before you reach out.

Tell us what is going on. We will start there.

Paterson residents: You may still qualify for housing assistance. 🏠

PTF’s Housing Assistance Program has two important eligibility distinctions you should know:

✅ You do not need to meet the 200% Federal Poverty Guideline.
✅ You do not need a court-issued eviction notice. A landlord letter stating intent to evict is part of the program’s documentation requirements.

Do not rule yourself out before learning more.

Contact Paterson Task Force to ask about eligibility, current funding availability, and how to apply:

Applications are reviewed case by case. Funding is limited, and approval is not guaranteed.

A few snapshots from a day we will be smiling about for a while. 📸

The 2026 Paterson Block Party was filled with face painting, food, music, games, resources, conversations, neighbors catching up, and families enjoying time together on Circle Ave.

These are the moments that make a community event feel special — the candid smiles, the kids having fun, the volunteers helping out, and the people who make Paterson feel like home.
