Field Day fun was in full swing at The Community Charter School of Paterson! ☀️

Elementary students celebrated on campus while middle schoolers headed to Pennington Park for a day packed with excitement. Students participated in football, basketball, soccer, kickball, and volleyball, along with several other games, for an unforgettable day of teamwork, laughter, and school spirit.

This month, NJCDC's Gabby Foushee was recognized as a Paterson Alliance Extra Mile Award honoree for her years of dedication to Paterson students, families, and the AmeriCorps members she mentors each year.

The youth mental health crisis is real. So is the response.

This year, the Youth Mental Health Corps is expanding into New Jersey — and NJCDC’s Paterson Public Health Corps AmeriCorps program has been chosen as one of five statewide helping lead the effort.

Participants in the program will have opportunities to pursue career pathways as:
• Community Health Workers
• Certified Peer Recovery Specialists
• School-based Mental Health Navigators

For years, our AmeriCorps members have stepped into classrooms, community schools, and neighborhoods to support young people however they can. This expansion helps strengthen that work at a time when it’s needed more than ever.

We’re proud that Paterson is part of this national movement to build healthier communities and create new pathways into behavioral health careers for young adults.

Last week, neighbors, jazz lovers, and first-time listeners gathered once again for NJCDC’s free 𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑱𝒂𝒛𝒛 concert series — this time for an incredible performance by Koehler, Chertkoff & Riley!

Congratulations to all The Community Charter School of Paterson Middle School Spelling Bee participants!

Special congratulations to the top finishers
🏆 7th grader Joseph, 1st place
🥈 8th grader Mushfiqah, 2nd Runner-Up
🥉 5th grader Abigail, 3rd Runner-Up

It was inspiring to see the excitement, school spirit, and encouragement students showed for one another throughout the competition. Students first competed within their homerooms and grade levels, with the top spellers among 415 students advancing to the final round of the CCSP Spelling Bee.

We are so proud of all the participants for their hard work!
