Our Creative Aging series wrapped today with “Paterson Memories,” cutting, layering, and collaging everything these artists have gathered over the past month into something truly special.

One participant even brought back last week’s watercolor to show off next to the Great Falls!

What a start! On Saturday, neighbors of all ages joined Paterson artist Joel “YOBE” Beleno at the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park Overlook to lay the foundation for America Untold, a new mural celebrating Paterson’s history, cultures, and community.

Thank you to everyone who came out and picked up a brush. This mural is our community’s story, and you’re helping tell it.

There’s still time to be part of it! Join us October 14th & 22nd! No experience needed. Artists, history lovers, and anyone who loves Paterson are welcome!

The finished mural will be unveiled Friday, November 6 at the park’s 15th Anniversary Celebration, in recognition of America250.

Today we observe Indigenous Peoples' Day and honor the Lenape, the original stewards of this land and these waters.

Before the mills, before the raceways, before Paterson had a name, the Lenape lived in relationship with the Great Falls, drawing sustenance, meaning, and story from the river that still runs through the heart of this city. That history did not end with the founding of Paterson. Lenape people and communities carry it forward today.

As the official nonprofit partner of the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park, we are committed to preserving the full story of this place: the industry that rose here, and the people who called it home long before.

In observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day, our offices are closed today and will reopen Tuesday, October 13.

We moved with fuerza. We connected with comunidad. And we celebrated the people and culture that make Paterson so special.

On Saturday, the Paterson Great Falls became a place to move, breathe, laugh, and come together for Move Con Fuerza, our Hispanic Heritage Month wellness celebration.

A special thank you to Paterson natives Odaly Tineo and Caleb Hernandez for leading our community through movement and reminding us that wellness can be joyful, accessible, and rooted in connection.

And thank you to everyone who showed up with a mat, with family and friends, or simply with an open heart to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Great Falls. This is what community at the park looks like.

HELP PAINT PATERSON’S STORY! Join Our Community Mural Workshops!

We're celebrating 15 years of the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park, and we want YOU to be part of the artwork!

Join Paterson artist Joel “YOBE” Beleno for three hands-on community workshops to help bring America Untold, a new mural celebrating Paterson's rich history, diverse cultures, and community, to life.

Saturday, October 10 | 10 AM – 2 PM Help lay the foundation! Participants will paint the mural's background using rollers, brushes, and stencils.

Wednesday, October 14 | 10 AM – 2 PM Bring Paterson's history to life by helping apply images of the Lenape, Alexander Hamilton, and the Great Falls, along with beautiful gold-painted details.

Thursday, October 22 | 10 AM – 2 PM Help complete the mural by adding aquamarine lines, gold paint, and the remaining images representing Paterson's industrial history.

This is more than a mural. It's our community's story, and we want you to help tell it!

Whether you're an artist, a history enthusiast, or simply someone who loves Paterson, come take part in creating a lasting piece of public art.

The completed America Untold mural will be unveiled on Friday, November 6, at 11 AM, during the park's 15th Anniversary Celebration, in recognition of America250.

We're delighted to welcome Vivienne Dotoli back to the Hamilton Partnership for Paterson!

Vivienne first joined HPP as a summer intern in 2025 and has now returned as our Executive Fellow for Fall 2026.

A recent graduate of Parsons School of Design at The New School, Vivienne earned her Master of Arts in Media Studies. She brings a passion for storytelling, history, and connecting people with the places and stories that make a community unique.

Outside of work, Vivienne enjoys traveling, spending time with her dog, learning about history, and giving back to her community.

She is excited to be back at HPP and to continue getting to know the people, history, and culture that make Paterson such a special place.

We're thrilled to have Vivienne return in this new capacity and look forward to the creativity, perspective, and enthusiasm she brings to our work!
