The Community Volunteer Committee held a school supply collection to help stock the "store" we set up at Hope for Youth. The Trailblazers had a great time walking the trail at Massapequa Preserve on Friday morning after a big rainstorm. We did not know that we would need to blaze our own trail over a fence to avoid walking through the expanded lake covering our trail!

The Culture Club spent Tuesday afternoon at Captree State Park. After a lovely lunch, some of us looked at the fishing boats where this picture was taken. Then, we took our chairs to the the inlet side where there is a pier. We sat chatting for an hour as we looked at Fire Island and felt the cooling breezes. What a fabulous August afternoon!

The ladies in Thursday Troupers visited the Lt. Michael Murphy SEAL Museum last Thursday. We were so lucky to have Michael's mother, Maureen, as our docent. To honor all the servicemen, she led us through the pictures and artifacts from World War II to current times. She touched our hearts with her enthusiasm and her stories about Michael. She even gave a number of us hugs on our way out for coming to the museum.
