Because of their sacrifice, we get to enjoy the freedoms, opportunities and the communities we call home.

This Memorial Day, we honor those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for America. ❤️🤍💙

Today in Trenton, the Senate Labor Committee heard from freelancers, moms, truck drivers, women, and small business owners about New Jersey’s new independent contractor rule.

Jersey 1st submitted testimony urging lawmakers to reconsider a policy we believe goes too far and threatens how thousands of New Jerseyans earn a living.

If the goal is stopping misclassification, the answer can’t be making it harder for legitimate independent work.

New Jersey needs balance, not overreach.

Nearly 2 million New Jersey independent contractors could be impacted by the state’s rule change.

From Uber drivers and hairstylists to consultants, realtors, and small business owners — this isn’t just policy, it’s people’s livelihoods.

New Jersey should be making it easier to work, innovate, and build a business — not harder.
