As we read through so much of the Gospel of Matthew this year, notice how Jesus is calling people together, to be a part of this family of God, this kingdom of God, where everyone belongs.

𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬.

Friends, this is a word that at once is incredibly good and exceedingly hard news.
-to love our enemies is no small thing.
-to make room for those different from them was no easy task for the pharisees.

Tonight, this awesome crew learned the ins and outs of making jams and jellies from scratch…and canning them, too! Thanks to Ginny and Nancy for their wisdom and guidance and to all these disciples of confection! Learning new skills and using our gifts is always a great joy, and doing so together makes it even sweeter! Happy jam season! 🍓🫙🍓

Tomorrow, June 3rd, is our LAST community meal before the summer break! We hope you will join us at 5:30pm for a delicious dinner of your cookout favorites- pigs in a blanket, chicken nuggets, sandwiches, salads, drinks and desserts! It's always a wonderful time to connect with our neighbors and give thanks to God for the gift of good food and loving community.

Following the meal, we will hold a brief Communion service in the Smith building with lively piano music and time for fellowship and reflection. We will continue our celebration of the feast of the Holy Trinity.

We are filled with joy for these 4 amazing youth who were confirmed in Christ this morning, affirming the promises first made in their baptisms! This is a huge milestone along the walk of Christian faith. Each of these young people have been blessed with tremendous gifts through the power of the Holy Spirit, and we are excited to see how they will continue to use these gifts to tend to the world around them! Congratulations!🕊️

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit ✝️ and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Tomorrow is a very special day at St. John’s! Not only will we be observing the feast of The Holy Trinity, but we will also rejoice in Confirmation Sunday for four of our youth who are affirming the promises made at baptism. Our God is working awesome things in the Church!

Worship begins at 10:00am.
Faith formation for all ages is held at 9:00am.

This Sunday is Pentecost.

In the reading from Acts the Spirit comes as wind and flame. But in the gospel reading Jesus gives us another image, a river of life.

Join us as we celebrate the Holy Spirit, the Spirit that gathers us in and sends us out to proclaim God's redeeming love to all the world.

We were SO blessed this past Saturday with gorgeous weather and MANY faithful volunteers for our first Congregational Serve Day! Our grounds were cared for both inside and out with tons of activities: cleaning, dusting, organizing, repairs, raking, mulching, gardening, and more. Our church is more beautiful than ever! THANK YOU to every single person (and pup!) who helped and organized this event. It is a huge gift to come together to care for our wonderful property so it can continue to serve as a hope-filled gathering space for our whole community. Thanks be to God!
