Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s annual Chair-ity Auction a success! We raised close to $3,700 to support two wonderful local organizations: the Palmer Museum and Kid’s Kupboard.

A heartfelt thank-you to Co-chairs Julie Jones, Jennifer Griggs, and Meridith Dolfi for their leadership, time, and dedication to making the Chair-ity Auction a resounding success every year!

Kid’s Kupboard will use its donation to provide approximately 900 lunches, each including fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and a grain.

The Palmer Museum will use its donation to support two exciting community programs this fall: the America 250 Historical Celebration featuring the Field of Dreams exhibit at the Alaska State Fairgrounds on Friday, August 21, from 4:00–6:00 PM, and the Local Leaders program this November, bringing emerging and established leaders together to build skills, engage civically, and strengthen community collaboration.

We’re grateful for the generosity of our community and proud to see these funds make a direct impact in Palmer. Thank you for supporting the Chair-ity Auction and helping strengthen the organizations that serve our neighbors!

Greetings, Palmer. Update on Saturday’s Art Chair ‘Chair-ity’ Auction.

Congratulations to Jo Overholt for winning the raffle for the fireweed chair created by artist Cheryl Lacy of Dancing Raven Designs.

Despite blustery weather the event was once again a success. About $3,700.00 was raised, and this this year will be split evenly between Palmer Museum and Kid’s Kupboard.

We will be putting together a FB page this winter to showcase past chair’s and their creators, and to keep everyone informed about future events and creative opportunities.

This is next to the last chair we are expecting for the Annual Art Chair “Chair-ity” Auction tomorrow at the Arts in the Garden event in downtown Palmer. This artist has participated in several of our previous auctions and here’s what she has to say about herself and her work:

Hi there! I’m Calla Christensen. I’m a multimedia artist with 6 years as a tattoo artist with Body Piercing Unlimited and Tattoo. I’ve lived in Alaska my whole life. I love engaging in the community and decorating life.
