The Antelope Valley Young Marines Detachment is located in Palmdale, CA. Through weekly meetings, community service, physical fitness activities, competition, and ceremonial events, we work to fulfill the mission and achieve the objectives of the National Young Marine Organization in our area. Yearly, we recruit boys and girls ages 8 to 17. Upon comp

letion of 'Basic Recruit Training' youths continue attending periodic meetings (Drills) which inspire America's youth to become responsible citizens, dedicated to their own success and the success of others. If your child is interested, or if you are interested in having your child join the Young Marines, we encourage you to leave a message here at our page or to CONTACT OUR UNIT COMMANDER, Mr. Danny Chinchilla, at the email address listed here under "Contact Info". You are also welcomed to VISIT US at our training location during our Drill days! Please give the unit commander a call to schedule your visit. We are located at the National Guard Armory, 38315 30th Street East, in Palmdale. Cross streets are 30th Street East and Palmdale Blvd. You may visit on Saturdays from 9 a.m. Park at the bowling alley. Parents and children are welcome to spend some time with us to observe our training, meet our instructors, and speak with some of our Young Marines to get the most comprehensive view of what our unit is, what it does, and how it functions. We hope to see or hear from you soon! Semper fidelis!

Drill 6/6/26
Normally, we have the first Saturday of the month off, but with a busy schedule ahead, our Young Marines came in ready to work!
They participated in PT, team-building activities, a class with Parents Anonymous, and had a special visit from our Division Commander, who gave some words of wisdom to our leadership.
A special visit from Young Marine Master Sergeant Matta, on May 22, 2026, he reached a remarkable milestone by graduating from Annapolis as an Ensign in the United States Navy. He spoke to our Young Marines about his journey and how the Young Marines program made an impact in his life.
