Every student journey is unique, but no student has to navigate it alone. In this series, we're introducing the academic advisors who support UMass Global students along the way.

Meet Ericka Shipley, Academic Advisor.

💡One piece of advice Ericka shares with students:
"Seeking support early is a strength, not a setback. Ask questions, stay connected, use your resources, and remember to build balance into your routine. Your progress and your wellbeing both matter."

And a fun fact about Ericka? She's a shy, book-loving advisor who believes any problem can be solved with a good plan and a great spreadsheet. 📚📊

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Dr. Amy Burks-Stewart as the new Dean of UMass Global’s School of Business and Professional Studies!

With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, business administration, digital marketing, competency-based education and online learning, Dr. Burks-Stewart brings a wealth of expertise to this role.

Since joining UMass Global, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to our students, faculty and mission. As Dean, she’ll help advance innovative, career-connected programs designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s adult learners and workforce.

We’re continuing Alumni Week by celebrating the journeys and impact of our UMass Global alumni, including Armando Montero!

Armando earned his M.A. in School Counseling and PPS Credential from UMass Global, an experience that helped shape the educator and leader he is today.

Since graduating, Armando has continued to grow as a leader in education. Today, he serves as Principal of Sierra Charter School, Professor at Fresno Pacific University, and Founder & CEO of Tier Zero Systems™.
