Have you ever wondered how Helensburgh in Scotland got its name?

Located just 9 miles from Luss, the town was founded in 1776 by Sir James Colquhoun of Luss, who named it after his wife, Lady Helen Sutherland.

Next stop, Wisconsin! Penny Anderson and Bob Cohoon will be representing Clan Colquhoun at the Wisconsin Highland Games over Labor Day Weekend, September 4–6, at the Waukesha County Expo. Three days of Highland Games, Scottish music and plenty more — if you're in Wisconsin for the weekend, come along and find Penny and Bob at the Clan Colquhoun tent.

Grandfather:The Torch Light Ceremony is now complete, and the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games are officially underway.

As the light faded, the torches were carried into the arena before the ceremonial fire was lit to open the Games.

Keith also caught up with friends from Clan Bell, Clan Bruce and Clan MacFarlane during the evening.

We look forward to welcoming visitors to the Clan Colquhoun tent over the weekend.

And yes... the bears still aren't Clan members, so please don't feed them!

The wait is over!

The Clan Colquhoun tent is up, everything is in place, and tonight's Torch Light Ceremony marks the start of the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.

If you're at the Games this weekend, be sure to stop by and say hello.

One final reminder... the bears aren't Clan members, so please don't feed them!
