Our CLC member, Jax Kelly with LKAPS, will be participating on this webinar panel for World AIDS Day, Thursday, December 1st at 3:00pm PT. You can register online; info below.

For World AIDS Day December 1, 2022 LKAPS.org President Jax Kelly will be speaking virtually with OutCare Health in their OutTalk Series. Register at outcarehealth.org/outtalk.

Over 1 million people in the United States have HIV, with the LGBTQ+ population being one of the most severely affected populations. Still, with so many people affected, HIV and AIDS are extremely difficult topics to talk about with loved ones, friends, and even one’s healthcare providers. To further complicate the conversation there is a misunderstanding and perhaps a lack of understanding of PrEP and PEP -- both are highly effective treatments for preventing HIV.

The Palm Springs Community Leadership Council – Quarterly Meeting -- Tonight -- Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 4:00 pm via Zoom. (Link below)

Please join us as our guest is Justin Clifton, the new Palm Springs City Manager.

Each organization will give their 30 second “elevator speech” as an overview/introduction of your group to Justin. We will ask that this be kept within time to allow everyone the opportunity to share. This is a great opportunity to introduce your organization to Justin. This also allows our collective organizations to show the strength of 69 collaborative nonprofit groups serving our communities.

Justin will then share a bit about himself, as well as share some of his forward ideas and vision for Palm Springs, with us understanding he has only been here 5 weeks. We will have opportunity for some questions and answers to round out our hour, so please be prepared with your question. Hopefully we will have some time left for other sharing by organizations.

At last night's Palm Springs City Council meeting Palm Springs City Government issued a proclamation proclaiming March 2021 International Women’s Month in Palm Springs, California. Welcome! The Community Leadership Council was established in May 2018 and 30 organizations were represented at the first meeting. Since then 55 organizations have participated. The mission of the Palm Springs LGBTQ Community Leadership Council is to support and enhance the business, political, cultural, and community life of the Palm Springs LGBTQ community by providing a stable, effective, and on-going collaborative mechanism through which LGBTQ community organizations can effectively exchange information, coordinate community activities, collaborate on community projects and provide coordinated community leadership.

This group consists of the board and staff members and appointed representatives who lead our LGBTQ and allied community organizations.
