It’s that time of year again! 34th Annual Palm Springs Banner Art Program ❤️

This is the 34th year of our wonderful community art project sponsored by Main Street Palm Springs, the business association of Downtown and Uptown Palm Springs, and the City of Palm Springs. Each year 50 new original art banners are added to past years’ banners displayed along Palm Canyon Drive, to proudly show off the creativity of students and schools throughout Palm Springs area during the winter holiday season.

Once again, this year, we will accept the banner designs like usual but will have the banners printed rather than hand painted. This Award-Winning project (California Downtown Association Judges’ Choice Award) showcasing original art that fosters community pride and helps develop the relationship between the schools, families, residents and Downtown and Uptown businesses. We will have a panel of judges and online voting on Facebook and Instagram for People’s Choice Awards.

2026 THEME:
Winter Holidays - Palm Springs Vibe

PURPOSE:
To develop a sense of community and pride between schools, families, and downtown businesses

WHO:
Kindergarten through 12th grade Palm Springs area students

DATES and DEADLINES:
A.S.A.P. - Design your Winter Holiday Banner design on paper.
Mon. Nov 2 - Deadline for schools to submit designs for judging. Submit at Crystal Fantasy, 268 N Palm Canyon Drive, Downtown Palm Springs
Wed. Nov 4 - Student designs are judged.
Mon. Nov 9 - Designs are prepped and delivered to printer.
Mon. Nov 23 - Banners installed on light posts.
Fri. Dec 4 4PM - Awards ceremony at Francis Stevens Park preceding Tree Lighting Ceremony

9/11 Remembrance Palm Springs Fire Department and the community.

Join the Palm Springs Fire Department to acknowledge the 9/11 tragedy that occurred 25 years ago.

Twenty-five years ago I was in New York City when so many lost their lives in the attack on the World Trade Center.

The Palm Springs Fire Department is inviting the public to join them in honoring the victims and remembering the heroes of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The department will host its annual Never Forget Ceremony tomorrow at Fire Station 2 on North El Cielo Road. The tribute will honor the lives lost on 9/11 and the first responders who answered the call that day.

Doors open at 8:15 a.m., with the ceremony beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Following the ceremony, members of the community are invited to stay for coffee and donuts as they continue the morning of remembrance and reflection.
