Our speaker this morning was Dr. Marcus Funchess, Superintendent of PSUSD. He spoke about the district’s EXCELLENCE initiative and a new leadership program he wants to see rolled out with the help from members of the Sunup club. He distributed Commitment Cards to all of us in hopes of recruiting help from some of our members to advise him when he and his Executive Committee begin crafting this program. Joan Boiko, PSUSD PR Chair, and Board Member, Sergio Esperquita, who spoke to us two weeks ago, accompanied Marcus. Palm Springs Unified School District

Another great Tuesday morning with the Rotary Club of Palm Springs Sunup! ☀️💙💛

We had a terrific turnout today and plenty of fellowship, fun, and Rotary spirit!

Lt. Michael Torres served as our greeter and shared our Thought of the Day, while Kathi Hallock and Carrie Allan stepped in to handle Treasurer and Secretary duties while Rene and Bill were traveling. Thank you all!

We were happy to welcome back Club President David Dotlich, who led today’s meeting and got everyone moving with a few fun activities designed to mix things up and help us get to know fellow members a little better.

👏 Congratulations to Stephen Gale, who was recognized as our newest PolioPlus Society member for his commitment to supporting Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.

We also heard club and community announcements from Kevin, Jarvis, Scott, and Ivonne, and one of the highlights of the morning was officially welcoming and inducting our newest member, Wesley Spencer! Welcome to the Sunup Rotary family, Wesley! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined us today and helped make it such an enjoyable meeting. Great turnout, great fellowship, and a great way to start the day!

❤️🩸 Community coming together in Palm Desert!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us today at our Rotary Blood Drive at the Palm Desert Family YMCA!

We were especially grateful to see our fellow Rotarians and our wonderful community partners from FIND Food Bank roll up their sleeves and donate alongside members of the community.

Today was about much more than giving blood. It was about organizations and individuals coming together with a shared commitment to helping our neighbors. Every donation helps support the lifesaving blood supply at our local hospitals, while our partnership with FIND Food Bank extends the impact of this drive even further into our Coachella Valley community.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, promoted the drive, and helped make today possible. This is what community partnership and People of Action look like! ❤️

❤️🩸 This is what community looks like!

What a great day of giving back! A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to our Rotary Club members, Palm Springs police officers, and Palm Springs City Councilmember Grace Garner for showing up, rolling up their sleeves, and donating blood at today’s Coachella Valley Rotary Blood Drive.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces come together for one simple purpose: helping others and saving lives right here in our community.

We’re grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, shared our message, or encouraged someone else to give. It truly takes a community to make something like this happen, and today was a wonderful reminder of the difference we can make when we work together. ❤️

People of Action. Community in action. Lives saved.❤️
