PS Test is the first free STI testing clinic in the Coachella Valley with the mission to provide accessible and judgment-free services to everyone.

Dr. Phyllis Ritchie has been working and living in Palm Springs California for the past 10 years. She founded PS…Test after treating an overwhelming number of STI’s and new HIV infections in the area. She was dismayed there were no completely free STI clinics in Riverside County. She hopes to fulfill this much needed resource in Riverside County and reverse this increasing trend of STI’s. Many peo

ple need simple ways to access healthcare. Many of our clients are homeless, lacking in resources for transportation, do not have insurance, or have had previous trauma associated with medical institutions. Now more than ever we must address public health issues in ways that are sensitive and de-stigmatize treatment. For more information on where our services will be available please check our calendar. As part of the national Seven Days in June: Health is Primary campaign, join the Palm Springs community in a Candlelight Vigil on June 5 at 7:30pm. The campaign unites communities in affirming that public health must remain a priority and raises awareness about recent and upcoming federal changes to health care coverage and cost.

June 5 marks Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day and the 45th anniversary of the first published report of what would later become known as AIDS. Together, we honor those we’ve lost, celebrate those who’ve survived, and remember that the AIDS epidemic is not over.

A new recently caused an of about 30 cases in Minnesota and has been detected in other U.S. cities.

The infection, caused by the Trichophyton mentagrophytes type VII (TMvii), spreads through direct, skin-to-skin contact, and has predominately been seen among sexually active gay men. It causes painful, coin-sized rashes on the arms, legs, trunk, buttocks, and ge****ls. While infections can be treated with oral antifungal medications, can take several weeks.

If you suspect an infection, seek medical care immediately.
