AI-powered robots are currently poisoning feral cats by spraying poison gel on their fur. Australia is using devices called Felixer grooming traps as part of its current feral cat control efforts. The traps use cameras, AI, and LiDAR-style sensors to identify target animals like feral cats and foxes, then spray a measured dose of toxic gel onto the animal’s coat. Because cats groom themselves, they lick the gel off and ingest the poison. The whole point is to target one of Australia’s worst invasive predators without killing everything else. The traps are designed to ignore most non-target animals, photograph what passes by, and only fire when the system identifies the right kind of animal. It is a very real, very current wildlife-management tool, and it is the strangest examples of AI being used in conservation right now.

Please, if you have cats and see nothing else, please pay attention to this.

Cytauxzoonosis Aka 'Bobcat Fever' is rampant in our area. We have already gotten in, and lost, a cat to this disease within 72 hours. We received a call from a lady with a large property with 'working cats'. They are all 'fixed' and vaccinated. She has around 20 cats on the property. She can't always 'catch' all of them each month for their flea/tick preventatives, but does the best she can. Thanks to the lone star tick and 'bobcat fever', she has lost all but 5 in the last 3 weeks.

It's been devastating.

Flea and Tick preventatives are the only solution. Please make sure your cats are on flea/tick preventatives all year round. Even if they're indoor cats. Ticks can come in on your shoes, jeans, the dog, etc. Once infected and noticed, survival rates are not very high at all.

Prevention is life saving.
