We're a little over a week away from our first summer event: KY 250 Art Camp! Only a few spots remain. If you're looking for an opportunity for your kiddo to make new friends, create, and explore, the KENTUCKY 250 Art Camp is the place to be!

“KENTUCKY 250” FREE Summer Art Camp at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, sponsored by RiverValley Behavioral Health, will take place June 8–12 and celebrates Kentucky’s rich history through creative, hands-on projects for ages 6–15.

Please see the following information below about available sessions and each day’s project:

• AFTERNOON ONLY - June 9 – “Cartography Creations” (imaginative map-making)

• AFTERNOON ONLY - June 10 – “Kentucky Colors” (mixed-media art inspired by home and heritage)

• MORNING ONLY - June 11 – “Pieces of History” (paper quilt designs)

• AFTERNOON ONLY - June 12 – “Pictorial Expression” (Shaker-inspired textured artwork)

Sessions are held 9–11 a.m. and 1–3 p.m.

This free camp series, taught by professional artists & educators, is open to all children in the region. Space is limited, and reservations are required.

Our downtown has become a cultural hub for public art, in part due to programs like the River Artes Program. The OMFA is proud to have played a part along with the City of Owensboro and many community sponsors to make Owensboro's Municipal Public Art collection a reality.

This will be a welcome addition to public art downtown. She’s the V.E.T is doing a great thing and we wish them success with this project!

A new effort to honor female veterans — past, present, and future — with a life-size bronze monument is gaining momentum in Owensboro, with organizers now seeking public support to bring the project to life along the downtown riverfront.

Looking for a fun, creative way for your kids to spend spring break? The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art is hosting a FREE Art Camp from April 7–10 for children ages 6–15!
Camp Details:
Morning sessions: 9–11 a.m.
Afternoon sessions: 1–3 p.m.
Children can be registered for up to 2 sessions. Spots are limited—reservations required.
Daily Themes:
April 7 – Creative Typography: Turn your name into a graffiti-style masterpiece with markers, crayons, watercolors, and colored pencils!
April 8 – Sculpt It!: Carve and paint floral foam sculptures while exploring form, color, and imagination.
April 9 – Imagined Imagery: Illustrate your dream world or happy place using color, texture, and visual storytelling.
April 10 – Artsy Alphabet: Create a personalized mixed-media artwork centered around your name using beads, yarn, paper, and more!

Our last Junk Drawer Delights! event is coming up on Thursday, March 19 from 3-5 pm! Kids will get to choose from several fun, creative projects. There’s something for everyone to enjoy. Don’t miss this chance to make, create, and have a great time together!

This FREE event is for kids ages 6-15. Young artists will transform everyday objects into masterpieces during a 30-60 minute activity. Registration is not required.

Meanwhile, parents/guardians can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the museum. Children will be returned to their parent after finishing their project.
