Strengthening partnerships across Wabanaki communities.

In July, Four Directions Development Corporation hosted the Wabanaki Consortium Leadership Summit, bringing together elected officials and program directors from the Passamaquoddy, Penobscot, Maliseet, and Mi'kmaq Nations to explore opportunities for intertribal economic development.

Together, participants discussed opportunities for intertribal economic development, collaboration, and shared priorities to strengthen Wabanaki communities.

Support Native Business This Summer

Summer is the perfect time to discover and support Native-owned businesses throughout Maine. Whether you're visiting an artisan market, purchasing handmade goods, enjoying traditional foods, or working with a Native-owned business, every purchase helps strengthen local economies and preserve generations of creativity, culture, and craftsmanship.

One of the best ways to support Native entrepreneurs is by attending community celebrations across Maine. These events showcase Native artists, food vendors, crafters, performers, and small businesses while celebrating the rich traditions and cultures of each nation.
