I've seen this so many times. There are all-too-many corners of the world where ignoring the plight of vulnerable children is an everyday occurrence. How is it that the average citizen is conditioned to care about the well-dressed child, and yet disregard the impoverished, vulnerable child as expendable or unimportant? It breaks my heart to think that such biases are our harsh and unfair reality.
That said, I am glad for a video such as this. One that helps us question these inequitable, and often unconscious, judgments. Particularly so when the 'invisibles' brought into focus are our children. Hopefully through this lens we can take a deeper look into our values, our biases and ourselves -- and then decide, both individually and collectively, to do better for our lost children.
