Happy Trails Animal Rescue 501c3 Non Profit Animal Rescue and Community Programs - Proudly serving Central Florida since 2013 - New Community Resource Center for Pet Owners opening soon!
(1)

Happy Trails Animal Rescue is a 501c3 Non Profit Animal Rescue servicing dogs in need in Central Florida - we currently service Osceola, Orange and Seminole Counties. We are a foster based rescue network - meaning our dogs are located in foster homes throughout Central Florida and not at a shelter facility. All adoptions, surrenders and other services must be done by appointment only - the best way to reach us is via email at [email protected] or by calling 407-270-7074. Our primary focus is rehabilitating dogs in public animal control shelters that are struggling with behavioral and medical concerns due to cruelty and neglect - we specialize in behavioral rehabilitation. We are limited on the number of animals we have availability to house and animals in danger of euthanasia in public shelters take first priority - we try to offer as much assistance to pet owners in the community as possible, including assistance with training, veterinary services, and networking dogs in need of new homes. We are here to help! We are excited to have opened a first of its kind resource center for pet owners in Central Florida! At this location we offer a pet pantry with food, treats, toys, prevention and other supplies for pet owners going through financial challenges. We also offer free and low cost dog training programs, free grooming clinics, free educational classes and seminars, a service dog program, assistance with funding for veterinary emergencies, and more! For more information please visit our website. We are proud to service the Central Florida area and hope to be a part of big things in your community. Thank you for supporting rescue!

UPDATE: Emergency foster found. This guy will still be up for adoption once he is cleared, if you're interested please go to HTARFL.org and submit an adoption application. 🥰🙏

🚨EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED🚨
For senior French Bulldog EXTREMELY easy and low maintenance, VERY EASY with other dogs, calm and tolerant and great with all personalities. Great with people of all ages. We've never had him with cats but he is extremely laid back and not particularly athletic and we suspect he wouldn't be challenging to acclimate to cats or at least manage around them safely.

Needs someone able to open their home to him tomorrow for emergency temporary foster until we can find him a permanent home or at least a more permanent foster placement.

Please send us a message if you might be able to take this sweet guy even temporarily. 🙏 He will also be up for adoption once cleared, so a foster to adopt placement would also be amazing.

We know it is a little early to be talking about the holidays.... but, Astro asked Santa LAST YEAR to get him a family of his own, and his Christmas wish still hasn't come true. 🥺 Please share Astro, he deserves a family before yet another holiday season rolls around with him a homeless orphan. 😭

Astro is a 5 year old Plott hound mix. He's a sturdy boy and will need an adopter comfortable and confident with big dogs. He is SO INCREDIBLY WELL TRAINED. Astro has been living with our trainer for well over a year. He is housebroken, excellent in his crate, has a perfect recall and impeccable obedience. He has learned hobby odor detection and LOVES it, he has been taught to run on the treadmill and it is his FAVORITE THING. He will run over and beg you to turn it on so he can go for a happy run all on his own. He is active but very well mannered and a great mix of party and chill. 😎 He is confident, friendly and doesn't know a stranger - every human is his bestie. He does need to be the only pet in the home.

As one of our very longest residents, his adoption fee is reduced to $50. He is neutered, current on his vaccines and micro chipped. He comes with free professional training support, 30 days of free pet insurance through MetLife and a free bath, nail trim and ear cleaning from our amazing friends at Scenthound .

He's located in Orlando, Florida. Please reach out if youd love to meet him. 🙏

Please share. It has to be Astro's turn!

Yesterday was THE. BEST. DAY. EVER. BECAUSE 🥁............ Coco is ADOPTED!!!!!!! 🥹❤️🎉😭😭😭

Not only is she adopted, but it was one of those incredibly special, impossible to deny moments of fate that let us all know she was exactly where she was meant to be.

Her new Mom first saw Coco's pictures over six months ago, she was living in Germany at that time. She had recently lost her senior dog - whose favorite toy was a giant stuffed bumble bee that she had for 15 years. Seeing Coco in her bee costume she knew instantly, Coco was meant to be hers.

She moved here from Germany (she has family here, the move was already planned) and got settled and hoped and prayed that Coco would still be available.

She was. It turns out, our girl had been waiting so long for a home because she was meant to find just the right one. 🥹😭

When her new Mom told us the story of her dog, the bee toy and Coco's bee costume the room became so emotional. Tears were shed. I got actual goosebumps. We all knew.... Coco had found her person, without any doubt.

The moment was also emotional as her foster who cared for Coco for the past year after saving her from death row, and saw her through three different rescues, remaining Coco's only constant and biggest advocate - is also from Germany. Seeing the foster and adopter connect and share that moment, felt like seeing Coco gain a huge extended family. 🥹❤️

A huge thank you to the Petfinder Foundation for a grant that will allow us to provide Coco's specialized diet and allergy shots for her new Mom - they so deserve it.

We had a VERY special guest at our group classes today. 🥹😭 Caden had taken group classes with us a few years ago. Her Mom got the devastating news that Caden has a very aggressive type of lymphoma and this sweet girl has been given very little time left. Her Mommy made her a bucket list, and we are so incredibly honored that it included stopping by one of our group classes to visit all of her old friends. Mom said her tail never stopped wagging when she was in class and that she knew she would love it. We hope she had the best day getting ALLLLLLL of the treats she wanted just for being her. 🥹🥰❤️😭

Please keep her and her Mommy in your thoughts as she goes through the rest of her bucket list that she gets many, many more good days.
