Children with Medial Condition:
For children facing difficult medical problems, life can be a daily routine filled with pain and fear. Their life is sustained by the daily care of doctors, medicine, family, and prayers. They long for a taste of what most children take for granted every day. Growth Through Music Foundation offers a door to another place where they can escape to the world of m
usic and find new life, new friends and a hope that tomorrow will be better than today. At GTM Foundation
We believe every child deserves a chance to experience the benefits that learning to play music can give them, regardless of the economic status of their household. Many public schools have dropped music education because of a lack of funding. GTM helps by providing free scholarships and subsidizing the purchase of the instruments needed to make professional music training available to families than cannot afford to pay for it. Inner-City Children
18th-Century Scottish Philosopher Adam Smith once wrote: "The real tragedy of the poor is the poverty of their aspirations." Many children today live desperate lives of struggle in a world of hopelessness and poverty. GTM Foundation is committed to bringing hope to these children whose aspirations will be crushed if someone doesn't step in and help them find a future filled with hope, joy, and the promise of a better life. Those In Children's Homes
Most Children's homes struggle for the funding to feed, clothe, and educate these children. We offer a structured program of music training for children in such situations. We can introduce them to a world of creativity that would probably not be available to them otherwise. When a young person finds purpose in their life they can overcome the obstacles that hold them down, and this can change their future forever. Help Us To Develop Lives Through Music
Learning to play music creates an atmosphere of fun, interaction and excitement. If we nurture this ability, music will provide a lifetime of enjoyment and creativity for all youth. "Music Education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them - a world of work, culture. intellectual activity, and social involvement. The future of our children depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music."
-Gerald Ford, Former President of the United States of America
"The nations top business executives agree that arts education programs can help repair weaknesses in American education and better prepare workers for the 21st century."
-Business Week
"A ten-year study, tracking more than 25,000 students, shows that music-making improves test scores. Regardless of socio-economic background, music-making students get higher marks in standardized tests than those who had no music involvement. The test scores studied were not the only standardized tests such as the SAT, but also in reading proficiency exams."
