QLatinx

QLatinx QLatinx is a grassroots racial, social, and gender justice organization dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of Orlando's LGBTQ+ Latinx community.

Founded in response to the mass shooting and act of hate that occurred on June 12th at Pulse nightclub, during the LGBTQ+ establishment’s Latinx-themed night, that robbed our community of 49 lives and left many more physically and psychologically wounded. QLatinx brought together members of the local community directly impacted by this tragedy to build a supportive infrastructure, address inequity

, and promote inclusionary practices for local leadership and partnering agencies. We honor the memory of the 49, nearly half were of Puerto Rican descent; while many more were Cuban, Dominican, Ecuadorian, Mexican, Salvadoran, Venezuelan, Afro-Latinx, and from other Latinx communities. Some were Black. Some were undocumented. Over half were under the age of 30, the youngest victims having just turned 18 years old.

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. For our LGBTQ+ Latinx community, mental health has never been just individual. It’s connected to our identity, culture, family and the world around us.

We know a lot of people want support but run into real barriers: limited access to affirming care, cost, lack of family support, fear of judgment. These barriers are real, but they don’t have to be the end of the story.

Supportive families, affirming adults, inclusive schools and safe communities change everything. Healing doesn’t mean leaving parts of yourself behind. Healing honors every part of who you are.

This month, and every month, we want you to know: your wellbeing matters, and your identity isn’t a barrier to your healing, it’s part of it.

Today is Zero HIV Stigma Day — and we’re marking it by releasing CHEMS*X 101
Stigma doesn’t just live in headlines — it lives in silence, in shame, and in the assumption that people who use dr*gs don’t deserve honest information. Harm reduction is HIV stigma reduction. When we meet people where they are, without judgment, we save lives.
That’s why today, on , we’re proud to launch alongside our friends from NAZ Chems*x 101: Everything You Wanted to Know (But Didn’t Know Who to Ask) — a harm reduction guide for our community, by our community. Inside: real talk on substances used during chemsex, tips for safer use, and harm reduction strategies rooted in respect, not shame.
Because people who use drugs are the experts of their own bodies. Our job is to listen, support, and give them the tools to take care of themselves.
